What is cPanel?
cPanel is a popular Linux hosting control panel widely used by many hosting providers around the world. It is often included with web hosting packages, although in some cases, a separate subscription may be required to access it. cPanel features a graphical interface that significantly simplifies website management. It provides key metrics about your server's performance and allows access to a variety of modules such as Preferences, Files, Databases, Web Applications, Security, Metrics, Domains, Software, Email, and Advanced Modules.
To manage your website hosting, we provide the cPanel control panel. This graphical interface enables you to perform the most common hosting tasks with just a few clicks.

Getting Started with cPanel
Installing Software
You can install software in two ways:
- Manual Installation: Follow the software's installation guides.
- Auto-Installers: Use our recommended auto-installers for popular open-source platforms like Magento, Joomla, and WordPress.
Databases
Most applications store their data in databases. For instance, WordPress relies on both databases and files. You can create unlimited databases either manually or by using auto-install software.
Uploading and Managing Files
Your website files are housed in a folder named public_html
. There are various ways to manage these files:
- SSH: For advanced users.
- SFTP/FTP: Use a file management application like FileZilla.
- Inbuilt File Manager: Access files directly through cPanel's file manager.
SSL Certificates
At 4XHost, every hosting account comes with free SSL certificates. The renewal and provisioning processes are mostly automated, so you don't need to take any action regarding SSL certificates.
Email Accounts
Each 4XHost hosting account allows you to create email accounts. These emails can be set up to forward to another address or can function as full mailboxes. Additionally, MX records can be configured to point emails to an external provider like Office 365 or Google Workspace.
Optimization and Performance
4XHost is designed to minimize potential issues or downtime while ensuring your website runs quickly. By default, we configure the system to accommodate a large number of sites effectively. You can further optimize your site's performance by adjusting settings like the PHP version to ensure your site loads quickly.
