- Add Forwarder: Used to forward emails from a specific address to another email account.
- Add Domain Forwarder: Redirects incoming emails for non-existent addresses to another domain.
- On the Forwarders page, you’ll see a few options:
-
Setting Up a Specific Email Forwarder:
- If you want to forward emails for a specific account, click Add Forwarder.
- For example, if you want emails sent to hello@yourdomain.com to be forwarded to hello@gmail.com, enter the necessary information in the fields provided.
- Additional options include:
- Discard with error: Sends a bounce-back error to the sender.
- Forward to a system account or pipe to a program: Options for more advanced setups.
-
Confirmation:
- Once the email forwarder is set up, you’ll see a confirmation page.
-
Setting Up a Domain Forwarder:
- Go back to the Forwarders main page and click Add Domain Forwarder.
- Select the domain you want to forward emails from and enter the destination domain. For instance, forwarding emails from example.com to example2.com.
- Click Add Domain Forwarder to complete the setup.
Note: Domain forwarders will only forward emails if the system can’t deliver them to an existing address or autoresponder. For example, if johnny@example.com exists, the email won’t be forwarded to example2.com. If it doesn’t exist, the email will be forwarded to johnny@example2.com.
- Deleting Forwarders:
- To delete a forwarder, navigate back to the Forwarders page and click the delete option next to the specific forwarder.
And that’s it! You’ve successfully set up an email forwarder.
