Using Gmail with your 4xhost Web Hosting

1. Forwarding Emails to Gmail

This method sets up an email forwarder in your cPanel to automatically send incoming emails to your Gmail account. However, please note that forwarding may sometimes lead to legitimate emails being marked as spam due to Gmail’s filtering policies.

Steps to Set Up Email Forwarding:

1. Log in to cPanel and go to Forwarders under the Email section.
2. Set up a forwarder from your personal/business email (e.g., yourname@yourdomain.com) to your Gmail address.

Configuring Gmail to Send as Your Domain Email:

1. In Gmail, go to Settings > See all settings.
2. Click on Accounts and Import.
3. Under Send mail as, click Add another email address.
4. Follow the prompts to enter your name, email address, server hostname, and set Port 465 with SSL.
5. Add Account and check your 4xhost mailbox for the verification code sent by Gmail. Enter this code and click Verify.

This method allows Gmail to display your custom email address when sending messages, making it look professional.

2. Using Gmail’s POP3 Feature to Check Mailbox

With this method, Gmail can access your 4xhost mailbox and download messages via POP3, which appears in your Gmail account as if directly delivered. This approach is usually more reliable with spam filtering but may check for new messages every 15 minutes, so it might not be instantaneous.

Steps to Set Up POP3 Mail Fetching:

1. In Gmail, go to Settings > See all settings.
2. Click on Accounts and Import.
3. Under Check mail from other accounts, click Add a mail account.
4. Enter your custom email address and select POP3. Configure as follows:
   • POP Server: Your server hostname
   • Port: 995
   • SSL: Enabled (Always On)

After setup, Gmail will pull in your emails from 4xhost.

Optional: Sending as Your Custom Email:

• If you'd like to send emails as your custom address, choose Yes when prompted, and follow the Send mail as setup from the previous method.
• If you select No, you’ll only receive emails in Gmail without the ability to send from your custom domain.
